I'm Bokashi Jen, a master composter/recycler in Vancouver, Washington.
I'm passionate about helping urban dwellers succeed in small space composting - even with limited outdoor space. Composting is not just for folks with large yards or farms! If you have a small patio or deck, you can compost too!
I've spent several years composting and reducing waste in a townhouse with a tiny backyard. I'm excited to share my journey. I'll share practical tips and easy step-by-step guidance on how you can too. I love talking about composting and showing how easy it is - not just to begin, but to achieve long-term success!

Last year, I developed a step-by-step guide on how to bokashi compost. I shared this information during a 35-minute presentation in our local composting community. The goal was to ensure that everyone who attended felt ready to start their own bokashi composting journey at home. I’m absolutely thrilled and honored to have been invited to do more!

I'm excited to share that I've started doing in-person bokashi composting demonstrations!
My very first one took place at a holiday event hosted by a local native plant nursery. I had an amazing time engaging with everyone there and looking forward to doing more of these in the future!
